“Wow I can’t believe that in a few short months we went from idea to finished product. I am thrilled with the outcome! The house is truly unique and exceeded my expectations. Your design really works on all levels. The house has flow and open spaces.”

“The plans you drew for our house, is us. You sat with us on our porch and we talked just a few hours and you made a house for us that meets with everything we would want. You are a marvel. You took our dreams and made them into our home.”

“I can truly say that this renovation met our goals and gave the congregation the flexible worship and social space that we wanted and needed.”

Executive Director, Sanctuary Renovation, Temple Sinai

My first project with Harry was a mixed-use building, office, showroom and warehouse. Harry’s work improved our business, created a fun work environment, and came in on budget.  My second project was my dream lake house.  All I can say is I love every inch of it.  His consideration of views was spectacular. His use of space was like a Swedish engineer. For a small house, it could really handle large crowds all having a great time. He found a wonderful builder and managed the entire project. On time and on budget again.  My third project was a new garage for my city home. I liked how he made it fit in so well with our 110-year-old house. But this garage was very cool. It handles large cars, tons of storage, electric vehicles, and sweet racking systems. I’m looking forward to the next project we can do together. Harry is simply enjoyable to work with!”

I highly recommend Harry Levine for any and all aspects of commercial and residential new construction and renovation work. I’ve known Harry since 1979 when he was a student at Carnegie Mellon University. Throughout the years we developed both a business relationship and a lasting friendship.  I want to inform prospective clients about his workmanship, his ability to resolve construction matters, and his ethical manner of conducting business. I’ve entrusted Harry with many critical aspects of my various projects, from zoning matters through the superintending the construction work of my most recent project.

Harry has a desire for perfection and likes to please his clients. During projects, there are many unexpected factors which appear. Harry interacts with all involved to resolve each matter.  Harry works to avoid anything from impeding construction progress.”

The sanctuary of the downtown shul (synagogue) is one of my favorite places in Pittsburgh –certainly one of my favorite Jewish places and maybe the only Jewish place built during my lifetime that gives me the same feeling of sacredness I feel in older spaces. The beauty of the sanctuary is the way you brought the tremendous history of the congregation down to the scale of its current, daily life. I cannot think of any other room in the city that is so grand and so intimate all at once.”

We retained Harry when we were planning some big home improvements. We wanted to have our old, dysfunctional kitchen renovated, and we needed some repairs to the concrete porch above our garage. But we didn’t have a clear vision of exactly what a more functional kitchen would look like, and we weren’t sure which project to tackle first.

Harry came to the rescue. We were impressed with him from the start. He listened to the ideas we had as we described what we wanted/needed in terms of a new kitchen (more storage and workspace, for example). He took loads of pictures of the rooms inside our home, and outside as well. He then came back to us with plans for three different scenarios for how we could move forward. We chose a plan that encompassed enclosing our porch, renovating the kitchen, and connecting the two—creating a whole new space we had not thought of, but we now love. We also chose to build a new patio and pergola in the backyard at the same time.
Harry was straightforward about explaining budgets and estimates to us, he recommended contractors he had worked with, and helped us meet with and secure bids from several of them so we could make our own selection. He then coordinated with our general contractor and checked in on progress throughout the process. Harry was always available for consultation if we needed to adjust, change, or clarify something along the way.
We believe his rates are very fair, and he has always been considerate, kind, and honest in our dealings with him. We would—and already have!—highly recommend him for any architectural work.”

“We have been grateful for your impact on our house. Your enthusiasm was infectious. We loved the process of brainstorming and watching you play with the space.  You really listened to us and took time to understand how we use our space and see it through our eyes. You promised “ a spacious convenient layout that permits the mundane, repetitious stuff of life itself to be savored and enjoyed.” And we’ve been delighted to see that this is indeed the case.  You picked good builders, craftsmen, and just plain good folks for us to work with – everyone was unfailingly professional and as unobtrusive as possible. The expansion of the kitchen has transformed the way we use our house and has improved our lives immeasurably.  You made everything so easy, and we could never have done the project so successfully without you.  We are looking forward to working with you again.”

“I have had the good fortune of working with Harry on several projects, particularly one at Verona Road Estates. I have found Harry to be extremely good to work with. His design abilities are outstanding, and he has served us well, both in a design phase and in field adjustments and modifications. I would highly recommend Harry to anyone considering architectural services.”

“Harry Levine, Architect’s guidance and expertise was invaluable throughout the project. He provided sound judgment, outstanding customer service and excellent on-site management. We were pleased with the creativity brought to the project, and the hands-on immediate response to construction problem solving that Harry brought to our project. This architect never hesitated to provide support to us, our project manager, and the contractor through all phases of the project. This sets him apart from other firms and resulted in an exemplary project.”
